Hi bishes, Welcome to this week's new blog! Today's just about something that I've been doing since late 2017 to now. If you don't know, I'm a stationary freak. I hoard note books and cute gel pens. I do use them constantly though, since I mostly write all my blogs and books on paper drafts first. Yes, it's strange but it helps me clear my head faster and it's satisfying.
Writing, whether it be for my books, on a device or on paper, is an essential part of my life and this post is about the writing I do almost daily. Journaling, is in simple terms, when one writes out their emotions and keeps track of their life or goals, etc. Journaling is something that I do twice a week.
On Sundays, I write out what I hope the week would be like and be thankful for what I already have, as well as prepare for the new week ahead. While on Fridays, I put down how my last week was, what I learned and what I achieved. Then, I end the entry with affirming words and a short prayer.
Journaling may not be for everyone and it's different for everyone. But, you don't have to be a writer or something, to journal. If you're simply someone that likes to stay organised, or you're hoping to simply take care of your Mental health more often, then this is the best and easiest way to start. Writing out your fears, goals and thoughts are a healthy way to find emotional and physical peace.
Because journaling is an example of Emotional Self Care, it gives your mind the relief it needs and the positivity it deserves.
I've had my fair share of bad days- bad thoughts- journaling has allowed me the free chance to take care of my Mental State in a way that's enjoyable and less time consuming. Also, for someone with trust issues and anxiety, Journaling may help you as well, because you have a safe place to gain focus and stability on.
During this COVID time, introverts are stuck at home, sometimes not in a good place, being surrounded by negativity or worse. Even if you aren't an introvert, everyone needs an escape from the hustle and bustle of others around us. I was one of those introverts that thought, I'd be happy away from people, instead I found myself stuck.
Just like so many of us. No matter if your extroverted or introverted, everyone needs POSITIVE social interaction. However, writing, especially for me and this blog, has given me a bit of that freedom and sense of stability, as well as the chance to interact, even if it's still online.
Now, I'm gonna give you hunnies a few tricks to journaling that I use regularly.
Start Early I wake up early on Sundays and I spend maybe thirty minutes at most, writing my main goals for that new week. Eg.
Yoga daily, 20 mins
8 glasses of Water daily
Make Post Content for Ig
Post Promotion for Pinterest and Facebook Group
Research and Write draft
Type and Edit Drafts... So on and so forth...
End With Positivity
Your journal entry has to end on a positive attitude. Find anything that made you happy-a quote, a post, your friends, some food- and add it. I usually write down five things that I like about myself + something I learned that week. Also, you don't have to religious to add a prayer. It's all up to you.
Make it Fun
I'm not the most artistic person, drawing wise and stuff, but I like doodles and cute stickers- washi tapes are life. You can add stickers and use different coloured pens, markers and even draw and decorate your journal/diary.
Keep it Short
It doesn't have to be this two page essay. Journaling should be fun and something that will always keep you coming back. Usually my journal entries start with date and are almost a not book page long.
I love writing, it's my place to go to be myself- my only escape from what was my harsh reality. I've been writing books for years and I read daily, but writing your thoughts, whether it be for blogging or journaling, has been a great help for my mental health. Writing also gives me a chance to connect.
My story may not be the same as your but there's some part of it that you can relate to. This is why it will always be my passion.
